Tamari & Honey BBQ Chicken
Since Australia Day is just around the corner and it is probably the most popular day in Australia to have a BBQ I thought it was only fitting I shared my 5 ingredient Tamari & Honey BBQ Chicken skewer recipe with you all from my latest "Eat Seasonal - Summer Edition" Recipe eBook!
The amount of sugar, additives, preservatives and unnatural flavouring added to most store bought kebabs is unbelievable especially when it is so simple to create your own at home. No one in your family or friends group who isn't on the health bandwagon will even know these are 'healthy' they are that delicious and they will probably become a staple dinner recipe for home, very popular for kids also!
Ingredients
600g chicken thighs (skinless)
2 tbsp tamari*
1 tbsp raw honey*
1 tbsp coconut oil*
season with sea salt & cracked pepper
Method:
- Cut chicken into small pieces and thread onto skewers, place in a lined baking tray.
- Combine marinade in a bowl and pour over skewers, marinade overnight or just pour over skewers before barbecuing.
- Barbecue on medium-high heat until chicken is cooked through, turn often.
- Serve with 3 potato salad and homemade Tomato or BBQ sauce from my "Eat Seasonal - Summer Edition eBook"
Note:
*You can substitute coconut aminos or soy sauce in replacement of tamari, pure maple syrup in replacement of honey if you are vegan or use macadamia or olive oil in replacement of coconut oil if you would prefer.
